Journal Grading

The Lifestyle Journal scoring is based on the three major areas of a healthy lifestyle.

Diet - After each meal or snack that you eat you are asked if "the meal spiked your blood sugar. There are a total of six meals in one day. The daily diet score is simply the percentage of those meals that did not spike your blood sugar.

Supplements - Everyday you are given the opportunity to take your supplements either twice or three times a day. Your daily supplement score is the number of times you took your supplements compared to the number of opportunities you had to take them.

Activity - The activity score is based on the simple yes or no answer. The resulting daily activity score is either a 0 or 100 percent.

The Lifestyle Journal also provides three averages that allow you to keep track of how well you are doing in the program. (Figure 1)

Figure 1 - An example of one month.

Daily Score - The average of the three major scores for a single day. Also for each day you can quickly see how well did in each area by the "Score Indicator Icons". See the table below.

Weekly Score - The weekly average is a little different then the other averages. First of all if you exercise five times a week, you are given a score of 100. If you exercise more then that you are still only given a score of 100. Otherwise your diet and supplement scores are simply the averages of your daily scores for that week. Sometimes at the start and end of a month there is not a complete 7-day week to score. In these cases the score is based on the number of days you had an opportunity to complete.

Monthly Score - The average of all of your daily overall scores.

Remember that the higher the score the better and the more entries that you complete in your lifestyle journal the better your score will reflect your progress. The color scheme and scores are just like grades in school. See the table below.
